Henrik Friberg-Fernros and I have just published a new article in Philosophy & Social Criticism, in which we seek to address the epistemic unreliability of the public justification requirement – a standard of legitimacy proffered by many contemporary public reason liberals.
Why are international human rights treaty bodies increasingly criticizing Sweden’s efforts to counteract torture? In a recently published book chapter, my co-author Axel Tengwall and I analyze contestation over Sweden’s anti-torture policies, as it has evolved in the periodic reviews by the UN Committee agains Torture and the Council of Europe’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture.

Tjugo år av Mothugg
Nu har den här bloggen funnits i 20 år. Tja, det finns väl inte så mycket mer att säga om det än det fanns vid 10-årsjubileet. Denna geriatriska blogg blir alltmer sporadisk i publiceringstakten, men liket lever ändå.
Just nu skriver jag på en artikel om varför Sverige och Danmark beslöt sig för att inkorporera EKMR i början av 1990-talet. Där fokuserar jag på det politiska spelet: Hur Socialdemokratiet i Danmark och Moderaterna i Sverige intog rollen som normentreprenör.1 Men man skulle också kunna skriva historien ur juristprofessionernas perspektiv, för det tycks ha pågått en febril aktivitet bland nordiska domare, advokater, rättsvetare och statstjänstemän från ca 1987 och framåt.
